MTN Mobile Money Limited (MML) has launched the "Me Nsa Aka" promo, a campaign aimed at rewarding customers for using the MoMo app. The promo, themed "One MoMo App, Endless Rewards," will run until December 15th and offers daily, weekly, and monthly prizes, culminating in a grand prize of 100,000 Ghana cedis.
According to the Acting Chief Commercial Operating Officer at MML, Abdul-Majeed Rufai, customers could win prizes ranging from 100 to 2,000 cedis daily, 500 to 2,000 cedis weekly, and 3,000 to 5,000 cedis monthly. The grand prize winners would receive 100,000 cedis, with additional prizes of 10,000 cedis for the fourth and fifth positions, 30,000 cedis for the third position, and 50,000 cedis for the second position.
Mr Charles Asamoah Assah, the Chief Technology and Service Delivery Officer, in his opening remarks, emphasized that the promo aimed to strengthen trust, deepen adoption of the MoMo app, and make digital finance simpler and more rewarding for everyone. He highlighted the app's features, including biometric login, access to various financial services, and the convenience of doing more on a single platform. He also emphasized MTN MoMo's commitment to partnerships and collaborations, working with banks, FinTechs, and ecosystem players to drive inclusion and expand access to digital financial solutions.
On the issue of ‘MoMo’ fraud, the Acting Chief Commercial Operating Officer cautioned customers to be vigilant and warned them about suspicious calls and messages. He emphasized that MTN MoMo would never ask customers for their one-time password or PIN and that the official number for MTN MoMo is 0244-300,000. He also highlighted the company's efforts to educate customers on safe digital practices, including a trust campaign with TV ads, radio ads, and social media messages, as well as community outreach programs “Shine Your Eyes Campaign” to educate customers in their local languages.
Rev Dr Isaac Obeng, the Senior Manager, Sales Analytics and Decision Support in his remarks, emphasized that the promo was a way of saying thank you to customers while encouraging more people to enjoy the simplicity, safety, and rewards of using the MoMo app. He highlighted the importance of building stronger connections with customers and communities.
Andrew Adu Osei, Head of Transaction Banking at GCB Bank, congratulated MTN MoMo on the launch of the promo, emphasizing that it demonstrated the company's commitment to loyalty and customer rewards. He highlighted the importance of partnerships and collaborations in driving innovation and expanding access to digital financial solutions.
Priscilla Akuamoah who spoke on behalf of the The National Lottery Authority (NLA) noted the Authority’s endorsement of the promo for its fairness and transparency, confirming that it had undergone auditing and verification processes to ensure its integrity..
