The government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FAUREE Link Limited to develop a new digital platform to help access to agricultural financing in Ghana.
The agreement signed by the Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, is to modernise agriculture and enhance agribusiness through innovative financial tools.
Under the partnership, FAUREE will design, deploy, operate, and maintain the Dobidi Agro-Input Credit and Farmer Financing Platform (DACFIP).
The platform is intended to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end digital infrastructure that connects farmers to affordable finance, input suppliers, aggregators, offtakers, and financial institutions.
“This collaboration is not just about technology; it’s about unlocking opportunities for agricultural financing. We are leveraging this innovation to enable efficient, transparent, and inclusive access to finance across the agricultural value chain,” Dr Otokunor said.
The platform, according to the government, will incorporate features such as identity verification, transaction monitoring, and seamless integration with key stakeholders, making it a critical tool for driving financial inclusion in agriculture.
PIAA also commended FAUREE for its technical expertise and commitment to the shared vision, emphasising the importance of building a system that reflects the real-life impact on farmers.
“As we move forward, we do so with the determination to build a stronger agricultural future, one where farmers are empowered, value chains are integrated, and the promise of inclusive agribusiness is fully realised,” he concluded
