Officials of QNET, a wellness and lifestyle-focused company, has urged the public to stay vigilant against scams and false claims by individuals who claim association with the brand.
Addressing the press in Accra on Wednesday, Mr Briam Fall, the Regional General Manager, QNET Sub-Saharan Africa, said the company "does not" offer travel or employment opportunities, and neither was it engaged in an investment or ponzi scheme.
He noted that persons who misused the company's name for such illegalities and "selfish reasons" should be reported. "We are deeply troubled by reports of individuals falsely claiming association with QNET when they're arrested... In most cases, these individuals are neither connected to QNET nor authorised to represent our brand," Mr Fall said.
"Some deliberately misuse our name to mislead others, causing harm to innocent victims. QNET is not an employment agency...
"We do not promise guaranteed income or travel opportunities in exchange for money. We do not condone illegal gatherings or participate in Ponzi or investment schemes."
Mr Fall said the company had launched a media and public education campaign, called "QNET Against Scams" to educate the public on its legitimate operations to prevent fraudulent activities.
He added that the company, which dealt in wellness products, such as weight loss and food supplements, had received approval from regulatory bodies and encouraging feedback from stakeholders.
Mr Trevor Kuna, the Chief Marketing Officer, said the company operated in over 25 countries, using "a direct selling" business model, driven by e-commerce.
He touched on the range of products under health, wellness, and lifestyle, among others, which customers had patronised due to their "quality and brand reputation."A
"We are by far one of the most accessible enterprenuership platforms, not only in Africa but around the world," he stated.
He touched on QNET's community initiative, where a percentage of profits from product sale goes to charity.
QNET announced the launch of its business conference known as "V-CON Africa", which would be hosted in Ghana for the first time.
The event is designed to empower local entrepreneurs and drive tourism, bringing together a diverse assembly of marketing professionals, business leaders, governmental and regulatory stakeholders, partners, entrepreneurs, and journalists.
