Ghana’s telecommunication network, AT is offering free voice calls to the affected customers and communities in the lower Volta area, including Battor, Atorkor, Glime, Akplabanya, Sogakope, Anloga, Ayetepe, and its environs to help relieve the communication needs of its customers.
The recent flooding in these areas has resulted in significant challenges for the affected residents. AT is providing support by offering free voice calls to all local networks for the month of November 2023.
Communicating this offer, Isaac Boamah, Director of Marketing at AT
said, “We are committed to the well-being of the communities we serve. This initiative is our way of supporting the resilient people of the lower Volta and its surrounding areas who have been affected by this unanticipated disaster. This offer will also ensure that the affected people can communicate when it matters the most. We hope this kind gesture can bring some relief and help the affected people to stay connected with their families, friend, and business partners nationwide.”
He placed emphasis on ATs' dedication to stand with the affected communities. “In the coming weeks, AT will use its resources to contribute more to alleviating some of the problems caused by the effect of the Akosombo Dam Spillage.” He concluded.
The controlled spillage at the Akosombo dams in the Eastern Region have left thousands of inhabitants along the lower basin of the volta river displaced.
