Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (+10%) and Total Petroleum Ghana (+0.66%) recorded gains to close at GH¢0.11 and GH¢3.07, respectively, pushing the benchmark index up by 3.67 points (+0.16%) to close at 2,260.18 with a -12.13% year-to-date return while market capitalization increased by 0.36% to settle at GH¢57.15 billion.
The GSE Financial Index was up 13.37 points (+0.68%) to close at 1,969 with a -8.58% year-to-date return due to a gain in ETI. The SAS Manufacturing Index moderated by 58.72 points (-1.53%), closing at 3,767.11 with a -19.04% YTD return.
Trading activity continued to strengthen with 151,615 shares valued at GH¢128,940 changing hands from 50,342 shares valued at GH¢48,157 at the previous session. MTN Ghana dominated trading activity for the second straight session, accounting for 91.61% of total volume traded and 75.41% of total value traded.
We expect trading activity to increase at the next session.
