Mrs. Sey was the Head of Corporate Affairs and Higher Education Services at British Council, between 2010 and 2011. This role encompassed relationship management and the implementation of a partner’s identification strategy for promoting UK Higher Education in Ghana. This included providing Knowledge Transfer and strategic support partnerships with international corporations, telecommunication companies and banks, local and international universities, as well as local media companies.

Then, from 2012 to 2016, she served as the Programme and Account Manager of a multi country, Tullow Oil Plc funded, British Council managed, social investment programme. It focused on capacity development for the oil and gas industry in 7 countries across sub-Saharan Africa and 3 countries in South America, working with government agencies and UK tertiary institutions.

Prior to her appointment by AFS Ghana, Mrs. Sey served as the Regional Senior Communications and Engagement Manager for sub-Saharan Africa at British Council. She has over a decade experience working with government agencies, private sector, corporate and non-profit organisations within Ghana and parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

Diana has a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership from Brighton School of Business and Management, UK and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northampton University, UK. She is a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), a Global Affiliate member of the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and an Associate member of IPR Ghana.

Upon assumption of her post, Mrs. Sey said, “I count it a privilege and great honour to be leading AFS Ghana, together with a team of talented staff and volunteers. I am also very excited at this time to be able to join the AFS global family. Our changing world order demands a focus and a need to empower more active global citizens who have the capacity to examine global and intercultural issues to engage with different cultures for collective well-being and sustainable development”.
“My goal is to continue to grow our market relevance and dominate the Intercultural Learning space and narrative in the region by offering well-tailored and relevant programs and experiences in Africa and internationally”.

Ghana joined the AFS network in 1967. She has since represented an important part of the AFS Global story through its impressive work of empowering students with intercultural skills through exchanges and scholarships. AFS Ghana also provides learning opportunities to countless host families and volunteers across the length and breadth of the country.

AFS International is comprised of 60+ Network Organisations or Partners. The term “Partner” is used within AFS to refer to each independent, legally constituted, non-governmental, volunteer-driven organisation that has been approved for membership by the AFS International Board of Trustees.
