Newport County's wait for a home League Two win goes on after Scott Smith earned Barrow a late 2-2 draw at Rodney Parade.
The Exiles, in new boss Christian Fuchs' first fixture in Newport, looked set for three points on home soil for the first time since March only for Smith to head in his first goal for the Bluebirds in the 84th minute.
The result leaves Newport, who had lost straight league fixtures after an opening weekend draw with Notts County, five points from safety at the bottom of the table.
The hosts had the better of the first half and got their noses in front in the 39th minute when left-back Anthony Glennon curled in a terrific free-kick for his first goal of the season, and only his second strike in amber.
However, they were hit by a sucker punch just before the break when Ben Whitfield levelled for the Cumbrians with a smart finish from a Niall Canavan pass.
Striker Courtney Baker-Richardson put Newport back in front in the 63rd minute after good work by impressive Leicester loanee Sammy Braybrooke.
County, whose only home success this season was on penalties against Gillingham in the FA Cup, were not able to hold on for a precious win with Smith meeting Connor Mahoney's cross to earn a point for 18th-placed Barrow.
