Great Britain's Sonay Kartal beat Japan's Mai Hontama in straight sets at the Jasmin Open in Tunisia to reach the first WTA quarter-final of her career.
Kartal, who is the British number four, cruised out of the last 16 with a dominant 6-2 6-2 success.
The 22-year-old from Brighton is ranked 46 places below Hontama at 151 in the world.
She took a 3-0 lead in both sets and closed each out despite her opponent pulling games back.
Beating Hontama means she will play either number third seed Diane Parri or world number 130 Yuliia Starodubtseva in the last eight on Thursday.
Kartal, who was Emma Raducanu's main domestic rival as a junior, reached the third round at Wimbledon earlier this year before falling to second seed Coco Gauff.
