Black Stars centre-back, Jonathan Mensah is said to be in stable condition and has been discharged a day after he sustained an injury while playing for the national team.
The Columbus Crew defender, was involved in a head injury during an aerial challenge with his Central African Republic (CAR) opponent during Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda, Angola.
He was rushed to the Clinical Girasol in Luanda, for treatment having suffered concussion during the head clash.
According to Black Stars team doctor Prince Pamboe, Mensah is expected to stay out of Ghana's four-nation tournament scheduled for Japan as he needs time to recover from his injury.
Dr Pamboe told Graphic Online that Mensah would need not less than a week to stabilise hence the need to drop him from Coach Otto Addo's squad for the Japan tournament.
The CT scan conducted on him revealed no major damage but the player was allowed to spend the night at the hospital to allow doctors further assess him before he was discharged.
Mensah’s injury caused the game to be halted temporarily for about seven minutes before he was substituted with Edmund Addo playing at centre back.
