The GCB Bank beat stiff competition from over 40 institutions at the 2018 Citi Business Olympics, to emerge the overall winner of the 2018 Citi Business Olympics.
Team GCB bagged six major trophies, the highest ever since the institution of annual tournament years ago.
The team competed in 14 sporting disciplines and won six major trophies leaving about 39 organisations to share the rest.
GCB won in table tennis; both men and women, sack racing, tug of war, lime and spoon and Arm Wrestling.
But for the declaration of “Oware” as non-competitive, GCB would have won seven awards.
At the 2017 edition, GCB shared the limelight with Netis Ghana Limited, as both institutions won three trophies apiece but in this year’s edition, no organisation came close to GCB Bank.
The organisers, participants and sport enthusiasts were impressed with the might and sterling performance of GCB team in this year’s tournament.
The Managers of Team GCB attributed the success of the Bank to teamwork, discipline and dedication of the technical and the playing body as well as the support and commitment of the Management of the Bank headed by Mr Anselm Ray Sowah.
The Citi Business Olympics is the biggest corporate sporting event in Ghana bringing organizations from various industries for recreation and networking purposes.
