The head Coach of Aduana Stars, Ciaoba Aristica, has parted ways with the Dormaa Ahenkro-based club, citing a number of developments in the Ghana Premier League as his reasons to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
Sources close to the coach told Graphic Sports he was unhappy about certain developments in the Ghana Premier League and felt he could not continue anymore once those practices still persisted.
“I have been contacted by the coach to look for a club outside Ghana for him because he is not happy about some practices associated with our league”, the source said and mentioned poor officiating and match-fixing as the main reasons for his departure.
However, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars, Albert Commey, confirmed the departure of the Romanian but said Aristica was expected to go and undertake a course for his Pro licence and so he felt he should have a job around where he would be having his course.
He said Aristica’s contract with Aduana had almost ended and the club was about to renew it but he decided to leave for the course.
Mr Commey said he was not aware of any other reasons for the coach’s departure aside the course, saying, “Aristica is always welcome back to the Aduana family.”
On the club’s preparation for next season, the Aduana CEO said the club would not engage in any massive signings and that management would meet by the close of the week to map out the way foward for the season.
