18 Sissala East Coordinators rally behind Bawumia ahead of NPP primary

A majority of Electoral Area Coordinators in the Sissala East Constituency have thrown their weight behind New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Out of the 21 coordinators in the constituency, 18 publicly declared their support for the former Vice President on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The group said their endorsement is grounded in Dr. Bawumia’s competence, humility, and consistent commitment to the growth and values of the party.

The coordinators expressed confidence in his leadership and national vision.

“Eighteen of us are strongly supporting H.E. the former Vice President, and Insha Allah, the next President of the Republic of Ghana,” a spokesperson said.

The NPP is expected to elect its presidential candidate on January 31, 2026, as part of preparations for the next general elections. Dr. Bawumia is among five contenders seeking the party’s flagbearer position.

He faces competition from former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong; former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong; former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong.
