The Asante-Akim North District Assembly has approved the nomination of Mr. Francis Oti-Boateng as the District Chief Executive (DCE) by a unanimous vote.All the 32 members voted yes for him in an election held at Agogo and supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Present to observe how things went, were the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Andy Appiah-Kubi, and the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Samuel Pyne. Mr. Oti-Boateng thanked the President and the assembly for the opportunity to serve the people.
He pledged that he would not disappoint – betray their trust, but work with more energy, commitment and passion to bring progress to the area. He mentioned security, employment and sanitation as his urgent priorities and called for strong support, good understanding and cooperation of everybody to speed up the development of the district.
