Tigo Ghana has accumulated a phenomenal 100,000 fans on its facebook page, comfortably leading the way among all local telecommunication services providers on the popular social media site.
A statement signed by Linda Narh, Brands Communication Manager said the number of Tigo fans had been increasing consistently over the past couple of months and comes in the wake of the recent announcement of the 60,000th fan on facebook.
"This recent feat shows that Tigo is a youthful, fun and lively brand and one that understands and connects very well with the youth," it said.
In a related comment, the Head of Marketing, Tenu Awoonor said: "We believe our overall track record and particularly our recent brand positioning, i.e. progressing from ‘Express yourself' to' Smile, you've got Tigo!' has really been embraced by our customers.

Mr Awoonor also noted that the local launch of Tigo's major CSR initiative 'Reach for Change' aimed at unearthing and supporting two social entrepreneurs with a salary of 25,000 dollars a year for a period of three years to help transform the lives of children, has gone a long way to help in this achievement.
As part of activities to celebrate this milestone with fans, Tigo has planned a number of surprises which will excite fans and reward them for their loyalty.
