A joint Zoomlion Ghana Limited and Environmental Health Sanitation Task Force at the weekend undertook a three- hour clean up exercise at the Nkawkaw township in line with the Government’s policy to improve environmental sanitation in the country.
They desilted drains and gutters, swept the Lorry Park, market and the streets of Nkawkaw.
Addressing the task force after the exercise, an assistant Operations Supervisor of Zoomlion, Mrs Faustina Shardey, said the clean- up execise would be organized regularly in the Regional capitals, districts and the municipalities throughout the country.
She advised the general public to get involved in the exercise to ensure a sound environment in the communities to avoid the outbreak of communicable diseases.
Mrs Shardey also advised the people to guard against dumping refuse in drains and gutters to ensure free flow of water that would prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
