The Centre for National Culture, has organised a five-day workshop for 700 teachers in the Akuapem South Municipality, to prepare them for this year's basic festival of arts.
Mr Akuffo Lartey, Municipal Cultural Officer, who briefed the Ghana News Agency about the workshop at Nsawam, expressed the need for Ghanaians to maintain their cultural heritage for the generations unborn.
The workshop was on the theme: "Culture an Epitome of our Moral Values."
Mrs Augsther Osaebo, Assistant Director of Inspections at the Ghana Education service, called on the participants to let what they have leant to reflect in their lessons.
She urged them to improve the image of culture in their schools and communities.
Mrs Osaebo announced that the 11th Zonal Basic Schools Festival would take off on June 25 and June 26 and would cover Aburi, Adoagyiri, Nsawam, Djankrom, Pakro and Nsabaah-Pokrom zones.
She said the participating schools would take part in debates, drum language, dancing, poetry recitals, sight reading, drama and exhibition.
