They comprised sewing and netting machines as well as hair dryers and accessories and other basic training tools. 
 
Speaking at a ceremony at Wenchi, Mr Mohammed explained that the beneficiaries comprising 30 trainees and six master trainers were the first batch of the programme in the Municipality and urged the apprentices to take their training seriously. 
 
Madam Gloria Opoku, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the machines, urging them to take advantage of the government’s opportunity to learn and fetch decent jobs for themselves. 

 
Mr Desmond Sabala, the Bono Regional Director of National Youth Authority (NYA) said the government remained dedicated to creating job opportunities for the youth through the implementation of the NAP. 
 
He said employable skills training remained pre-requisite for job creation and poverty reduction, and advised the unemployed youth to brace themselves and learn apprenticeship programmes to better their lot.
