The situation, many residents say, is affecting their day to day activities and were appealing to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to help fix the problem as soon as possible.

Some residents told the Ghana News Agency that water has not flown through their taps for the past two weeks and they have to wake up very early in the morning to go and queue for water.

Madam Nana Adjoa Asabea said, "The water has not been flowing and not even a word from the GWCL. Normally, information is given prior to such a situation but nothing was communicated to us in this regard".

She said the situation is greatly affecting them and they now have to depend on sachet water, especially those who use a lot of water for their businesses.

"There is no water to bath, cook and do other household activities," she said.

Sister Felicia, a hairdresser, said she has to queue for long hours to get water for her job and she is spending so much in buying water since a bucket of water costs 30 pesewas while a gallon costs 50 pesewas.

"For the past two weeks the taps have not been flowing. Last week Thursday it flowed for some few hours in the afternoon and stopped again. Since then not even a drop has flowed through our taps. We are pleading with the GWCL to find a lasting solution to the situation."
