The Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) has called on the youth to renew their commitment towards developing themselves and the state as they prepare for 2020.
Mr Kwabena Nketia-Addae, the Executive Director YMCA Ghana, who made the call, said by renewing their commitment they must be self-responsible and ensure that their actions and inaction's were transformational.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said the YMCA in 2020 would want to build the capacities of more youth to ensure that young people in the country and those in the West African Sub-Region had the needed skills to achieve their aims.
He urged the youth to take advantage of the opportunities that the YMCA would provide to build themselves in order to become financially independent and to contribute positively to the country's development.
Mr Nketia-Addae called on other youth development organizations to take up the responsibility of nurturing young ones to enable them have the relevant employable skills.
He said the YMCA's mandate is to ensure that young people are empowered, given the necessary support and platform to express their views and to get the right innovations to help develop the country.
Mr Nketia-Addae called on government to support the youth for them to exhibit their God-given talents and help end unemployment and other social vices that confront communities and the entire nation.
He urged the youth to take up courses at the YMCA Training School and to act responsibly on prevailing opportunities.
