e-Crime Bureau, Ghana's leading Cyber Security and Investigations firm has been crowned the Cyber Security Company of the Year 2019, for the second time running at the ninth edition of the Ghana Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards (GITTA).
e-Crime Bureau emerged winner in the competition over other notable players within the cyber security industry after going through a rigorous selection and evaluation process.
The prestigious annual event organised by Instinct Wave, celebrates individuals and institutions whose works have over the past year promoted innovation and excellence in Ghana's Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff, Dr Suzanne Nti, a Senior Consultant of e-Crime Bureau, expressed her delight for the industry recognition which came to affirm e-Crime Bureau's commitment to maintain its leadership in cyber security and investigation not only in Ghana but also in Africa.
She appreciated the organisers and the evaluation panel for the honours and emphasized on the encouragement it provided the e-Crime Bureau Team to go the extra mile to improve upon delivery standards to meet international consulting best practices and exceed the expectations of its clients and stakeholders.
Dr Nti thanked all loyal clients and industry partners and urged them to believe and stick to the e-Crime Bureau brand.
She also assured all institutions that even though the cyber-threats landscape was dynamic and keeps experiencing changes in the nature of cyber-attacks, e-Crime Bureau was positioning itself with constant industry research and other innovative approaches to provide cutting-edge and customer-centric cyber security solutions to address the many cyber security challenges
Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia, who graced the occasion as the special guest of honour, received the award as the Digital Leader of the Year, for his phenomenal contribution to Ghana's digital economy journey.
In his address, Mr Akin Naphtal, Chief Executive Officer of Instinct Wave, said this year's edition recognised not only the products and innovations that kept the ICT industry and Telecom sector thriving, but also the companies and people who made the industry great.
He said with GITTA 2019 the team also went deeper to promote vertical sector and government institutions that have embraced digitisation and created disruptive technologies for effective service delivery in the Public sector.
Mr Naphtal, who reiterated the company's commitment to sustain the awards scheme, also added that the presence of the Vice President was a demonstration of government's commitment in promoting growth in the industry.
The Bureau's Cyber Threat Intelligence Team has built industry standard cyber threat intelligence infrastructure to support organisations across every sector to proactively control the impact of cyber-attacks.
This technology helps institutions to anticipate, plan and prepare their IT security against any cyber-attack.
e-Crime Bureau has over the year upgraded and deployed a Passport Verification Software (P3) Tool for institutions to address the growing fraud trends involved in the use of fake passports (whether Ghanaian or passports of other nationalities) for transactions.
