The executives took the oath of office and oath of secrecy, administered by Mr Prosper Yao Ledi, the National President of the Association. Mr Klutse, in his speech, thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to cooperate with members to share knowledge in the built environment.
He promised to embark on a membership drive to bring on board all stakeholders in the sector and develop the Association into a coercive body. The newly-elected Chairman said he would lobby the Authorities to get contracts for members and called on them to unite for the Association to move forward.
He urged members to work with dedication and determination since every government would want to work with good and experienced contractors. Mr Ledi advised the newly-elected Chairman to respect and use moderate language in his deliberations with members.
"You need to build the association with humbleness, uprightness and with transparency to live peacefully". He advised members to partner each other to execute contracts instead of doing the work alone, since that delays the project, and urged members to be united, put their experiences together and contribute financially towards the development of the Association.
Mr Kwadzo Hohoabu, the President of the Ghana Institute of Surveyors, advised the Association against tendencies that could destroy its image and appealed to government to give contracts to Ghanaian companies since they were capable of executing a better job and to also pay them on time.
