The parties also agreed to continue to engage each other on the project as it proceeds.

The three-point resolution, reached after a four-and-half hours closed-door meeting of stakeholders in the broadcasting industry, would see the parties collaborating in joint public education campaigns on the DTT project.

CDTC

The Minister of Information designate, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who announced this at a joint press briefing after the meeting in Accra Thursday, said: “That earlier decision to have an independent company, the Central Digital Transmission Company Limited (CDTC), operate and manage the infrastructure with DTT remains unchanged.

“The next meeting of the stakeholders is scheduled to take place within the next four weeks,” he announced.

Meeting

The meeting provided the platform for the Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, to brief the stakeholders on the status of the DTT network infrastructure project, management of the DTT platform, current draft of the DTT policy, digital switchover (DSO) roadmap and enhancement of the DTT network.

The stakeholders at the meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Finance, the National Media Commission, the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA).

The others were the Film Producers Association of Ghana, the Ghana Academy of Film and Television Arts, the Ghana Actors Guild, National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Ghana Institute of Engineering, K-Net Limited and ILC Consultancy Limited.

STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON DIGITAL MIGRATION.

Stakeholders on the Digital Migration project held a meeting on Thursday 27th September 2018.

The meeting concluded with the following resolutions;

1. That all parties will collaborate in joint public education campaigns on the project moving forward.

2. The earlier decision to have an independent company, Central Digital Transmission Company Limited (CDTC), operate and manage the infrastructure for the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) project remains unchanged.

3. The parties have agreed to continue with engagement as the project proceeds. The next meeting for stakeholders is scheduled to take place within the next 4 weeks.

4.
