The Community Three Livestock Farmers Association has declared its intentions to help provide the critical needs of the Tema Manhean Polyclinic to help it function properly. The Health Facility, which is sited in the most deprived part of the Tema Metropolis,
struggles daily to cope with deliveries and treatment of diseases with very limited resources.
The Association made it know when it presented beds to the Polyclinic to help it beat the “no bed syndrome” which had plagued many health facilities in the country. Mr Akwasi Amankwaa, President, Community Three Livestock Farmers Association, making the presentation, said, as a human-centred association, it viewed health delivery as a critical component of national development.
He said the donation marked the beginning of their relationship with the facility and that the two bodies would be interacting frequently on how best to help it serve the people of Tema Manhean well. Madam Afia Serwaa Atta Mensah, Head of Nursing, Tema Manhean Polyclinic, thanked the group for the donation saying “they could not have come at a better time”.
She called on all public spirited individuals and corporate bodies to come to the aid of the facility.
