This was disclosed at a short ceremony to climax the three -week programme in Cairo on Thursday.

Ms Jadoo a news editor of the Citizens Newspaper died while attending the programme on April 25 after a short illness.

She was laid to rest on Monday May 7, 2018 in South Africa.

She was described by her colleagues as a lovable and a germ in her activities as a journalist.

Purpose of the training

Speaking on behalf of the President of the Union Mahfouz Ansari, the Secretary General of the UAJ, Dr Samia Abbas said the aim of the programme is to support communication between African journalists and to exchange views on the problems and issues facing the continent as well as to transfer them with honesty and transparency.

She said the course is the best evidence of Egypt's interest in the African continent and its keenness on building a language of partnership for constructive and sincere dialogue and the transfer of experiences among the journalists and media of the continent.

She added that the interest of the President of Egypt, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in the African continent was reflected in the recommendations of the recent World Youth Forum I recommend that the African Youth Center for Africa be established and that the Council of Trustees of the National Academy for Youth Rehabilitation be assigned scholarships to young people from Africa and Asia to identify their history and achieve continuous constructive communication.

Advice

A member of the Supreme Council of Media and Chairman of the Council's Training Committee, Mr Saleh Al- Salhi, urged the media to provide a positive model for cooperation and integration among the peoples of the African.

He said the media plays a very important role in educating the people and introducing the importance of African rapprochement towards reaching wider horizons.
This course has contributed to the creation of this integration and convergence.

Impact

The participants thanked the organisers for the initiative and said the course had depth and diversity as it reflected on African commercial free trade zones and the requirements for its success.

They added that it also reflected on economic challenges facing the continent; cultural diversification and Africa’s mineral resources and its economic exploitation.
In addition, the participants were schooled on political and security challenges threatening stability in Africa, the empowerment of women and the challenges facing education on the continent and Yellow Journalism.

The event was also attended by ambassadors of the various countries the participants are coming from.
