Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh is a seasoned investment banker with over 20 years’ experience in the investment banking industry and has recently been appointed as the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Until his current appointment, Rev Ogbarmey Tetteh was the Executive Director and Head of Databank Asset Management Services Ltd. (DAMSEL). He holds a B.Sc. Admin with First Class honours and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing, both from the University of Ghana Business School. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Finance and Management from Sorbonne University, France and an honorary doctorate in Management and Christian Leadership from the International Christian University.
He was head of Databank Research from 2000 before taking on the leadership of DAMSEL in 2008. Rev Ogbarmey Tetteh also served as the Marketing Director of XDSData Ghana Limited. Earlier on, he played the role of Senior Vice President of Databank Financial Services Limited and also as an Associate Director of Databank Research and Information Limited (DRIL). Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh was able to build on the solid research foundation of Databank, and under his leadership, DRIL was transformed into a formidable research house. This research house became a regular contributor of equity and economic research in Ghana to leading media houses and international portals like the CNN, Bloomberg and Financial Times. He was responsible for DRIL's Economic Briefing Service to companies as well as media relations. In addition, he served as an in-house trainer for new recruits. During his leadership tenure, Databank Research was awarded the prestigious Best African Research Team (2007) at the Africa Investor Ai Index Awards held at the London Stock Exchange in 2007.
Reverend Daniel Obgarmey Tetteh also lectured in Marketing at the University of Ghana Business School from 1996-1998 and was also a Facilitator in a Case Study at a Corporate Strategy class at Harvard Business School, USA in 2008.
He is the General Overseer of New Creation Chapel Int., a Ghanaian charismatic church. He is a motivational speaker and an author of two books namely, “31 Days to Financial Independence” and “You Can’t Make Your Wife Pregnant”.
In his new role as the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Reverend Daniel Obgarmey Tetteh’s vision is to support the private sector and ensure the blossoming of the capital market in Ghana.
