Mr Jacob Prince Hayibor, Member of Parliament for Hohoe North, has donated 40 phoenix bicycles to the Hohoe Municipal Directorate of Education for distribution to teachers.
The bicycles valued at GHC 3,200 were financed from the MP's share of the HIPC Fund.
Also included in the donation were 10 sets of football jerseys for distribution to senior high schools.
Mr Wonder Boasilenu, Chairman, Hohoe North Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, who presented the items on behalf of the MP, said the bicycles were Mr Hayibor's contribution to honour and to motivate teachers working in deprived communities.
He said a chunk of the Ghanaian population admired the efforts of teachers and through their efforts the nation grows.
Mr Boasilenu said the exercise would continue and the package would get better.
He then appealed to teachers to do their best and improve the poor standards of education in the Municipality.
Mr Evans Sogloh, Deputy Director in charge of Finance and Administration, receiving the items on behalf of the Directorate, expressed their gratitude to the MP for his kind gesture.
He said the donation should serve as a challenge to teachers to do their best irrespective of the conditions under which they worked.
