The President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi, has called on the youth to rekindle their communal spirit to help in the development of their communities.
Dasebre Ewusi, a member of the Council of State, was speaking at the installation of Nana Obokumatta IX as chief of Gomoa Dasum in the Gomoa East District. Nana Obokumatta IX succeeded his uncle, Nana Obokumatta VIII, who died 27 years ago.
He said the youth should not waste their energies on reckless activities but to use them to support chiefs, District and Municipal Assemblies.
Dasebre Ewusi said he was not happy with the present apathy amongst the youth and appealed to the family of the new chief to help him achieve his
aims.
Dasebre Ewusi commended Nana Obokumatta for building a health centre and library for the area.
Nana Obokumatta said plans are far advanced for the construction of teachers' quarters to attract teachers to the area.
He launched a 20,000 Ghana cedis Educational Endowment Fund to assist brilliant but needy pupils.
He commended the Plan Ghana, Gomoa East District Assembly and other NGOs for building education facilities in the town.
