Ofori Quaye Annan, driver, who pleaded guilty for causing unlawful damage to a structure and
throwing away soup belonging to Madam Marry Azanu, a trader, has been fined GH60 fine at the Adjabeng Magistrate Court Two.
Quaye, who pleaded guilty, would be jailed in harbour for two months in default. In addition to the fine, Quaye was ordered by the court presided over by Mrs Faustina Marry Addington to pay GH100 as cost of the structure and the soup respectively.
He was also ordered to pay GH20 compensation to Madam Azanu or three months imprisonment in hard labour.
Prosecuting Police Inspector Worae Douglas said Marry occupies a parcel of land that she bought from the late father of Quaye.
The accused, who share a common border with Marry, has claimed ownership of the land and had asked Marry to vacate the land.
Prosecution said even though Marry explained the circumstances that led to her occupancy of the land, the accused refused to understand. He said on October 5th this year, the accused went to pluck a coconut fruit on the land and he was confronted by Marry.
He said Quaye took offence at that and started destroying Marry's kitchen, bath room, and her soup.
