Some 113 girls from eight districts of the Northern and Brong-Ahafo regions are attending a week-long girls educational clinic aimed at making them assertive and confident.
It also aimed at increasing school survival and achievement rates among the girls by offering them the opportunity to develop the virtues of
self-confidence and assertiveness through socialization and interaction with peers.
The third in the series of Ibiss educational clinic in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) was on the theme; Empowering girls
for effective leadership.
Mr Zakaria Sulemana, Education for Empowerment Programme Director of Ibis, said Ibis cherished the education of women.
He said book knowledge alone was not enough to make anyone succeed in school or fit well into the world.
We have countless examples of very brilliant boys and girls who unfortunately abandon school because they do not have the necessary skills
and attitude to fight the influence of life.
Mr. Dramani Dari, Regional Desk Officer for NGOs of GES, commended Ibis for organizing the clinic.
