The Sekyere-Central District Assembly has asked for assistance from the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), to flush out Fulani herdsmen from the area.
A June 22 deadline, the assembly gave to the herdsmen to leave, had passed with no sign that they are ready to move out.
The Fulanimen and their cattle are believed to have invaded the Sekyere-Central from Amanteng, Kwame Danso and the Sekyere Afram plains.
The assembly accused them of creating insecurity and destruction of food crop farms.
It alleged that the alien herdsmen were involved in robberies, rape of women, setting wildfires and polluting water sources.
Mr Ebenezer Akuoko Frimpong, the District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Fulani had become a major security threat
and this needed to be tackled head-on.
He said the District Security Committee (DISEC) had already sought assistance from the Game and Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission at Ejura to help identify their hideout and chase them out.
