Ms Ophelia Koomson, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, says the government would invest a greater chunk of the nation's resources in human resource development.
She said the introduction of free exercise books and school uniforms programmes, increase in
capitation grant and the expansion of the school feeding programme were interventions to cushion parents financially.
Ms Koomson said this when he presented government's free exercise books to schools in the municipality at a ceremony at Akyem Oda on Wednesday.
She told parents to report any school authority who might attempt to sell the books to their children.
Ms Koomson appealed to parents to take advantage of government's intervention in education to send their children, especially the girl-child to school.
Mr David Afram, Municipal Director of Education, who received the books, said the books would enhance teaching and learning in the schools.
