The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned
the general public especially business people about a group of young men playing tricks on unsuspecting people to defraud them of their monies.
A statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Zenge Cyprian of the Public Affairs said the young men as part of their modus would introduce to their unsuspecting victims a highly lucrative business involving moringa powder or a drug called Horsetelick syrup.
It said they would impress upon you to commit huge sums of money into buying the products for onwards sales to a foreign national, who really
needed them.
The statement said such young would usually call your phone number and mention some close relative or friends of yours in order to gain your trust.
It said at certain times they would introduce a foreign national to you as the person to buy the products with high profit margin. They would also lure you to secluded areas. The foreign national, the statement said, would later vanish as soon as the products were purchased leaving you with the fake products.
The statement, therefore, asked the public not to hesitate to report such suspected persons to the nearest police station.
