The National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) is to recruit 1,000 personnel for the Ghana National Fire Service and the Prison Service.
This initiative is part of the new modules of the Programme to provide jobs for the youth. Five hundred persons are to be trained for each of the
two institutions.
Mr Abuga Pele, National Coordinator of NYEP made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra.
Mr Pele said it was meant to provide additional assistance to the Security Agencies to enable them to perform their legitimate duties
effectively.
He said the two modules could not start on schedule due to inadequate training facilities such as training centres among other things.
The Coordinator said the training programmes would start as soon as the facilities were ready since the Government was committed to providing
quality livelihood for the people and urged other stakeholders to play their parts.
