Mr Daniel Eshun, Ellembelle District Chief Executive, has appealed to central government to rehabilitate the Aiyinase-Nyamebekyere-Asomasi feeder road to facilitate the carting of cocoa produce to the marketing centres.
He said due to the bad nature of the road tonnes of cocoa produced by farmers are locked up in the hinterlands.
Mr Eshun who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Aiyinase North said the Assembly was in the process of procuring a grader to reshape feeder roads in the area.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Dr Nii Oakley Quaye-Kumah has assured the people that the Ministry would treat the construction of roads in the area as a matter of urgency.
He made this known during a tour of the area as part of an official visit of the Western Region.
Dr Quaye-Kumah said since the Region served as the food basket of the nation, there was the need to construct the roads that feed the nation.
