Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized Tuesday night after falling ill during her Broadway performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
Entertainment journalist Loren LoRosa was on site and reported the show suddenly stopped as the rapper, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, needed to exit the stage. An hour later, Megan's hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, requested prayers for Meg as she and her team made it to the hospital.
Let's get into what we know.
Megan, 31, is a three-time Grammy-winning rapper from Houston, Texas. She's best known for her songs Savage, WAP and Hot Girl Summer. Meg is currently dating Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson.
Megan is making her Broadway debut with Moulin Rouge! The Musical. She's playing the Zidler in an eight-week engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theater in New York City. Meg is scheduled to take part in the production through May 17.
"Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor," Meg said in a statement at the time of her casting, per People. "I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace."
Megan's team released a statement shortly after she was rushed to the hospital, revealing she was "feeling very ill" before leaving the stage. That's the last we've heard on her status, however.
“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated," the statement read, per LoRosa. "We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”
We're wishing the best for Meg.
