TEX STYLES Ghana Limited, producers of Vlisco, GTP and Woodin has positioned itself to produce more quality and affordable fabrics for the Ghanaian market.
The company’s resolve comes at a time when the government is expected to implement a tax stamp policy under which all imported textiles are expected to have the tax stamp affixed to their products before they hit the market.
The move by the government which has been highly hailed by the public is expected among other things to help revive the ailing local textile industry, create jobs and protect intellectual property.
It is also expected to offer a level playing field for all textile products, imported and local but with the aim of ensuring that the local textile industry thrives.
According to the Marketing Director of the company, MaryAnn Boaten, with a rich heritage spanning 177 years, Vlisco remains a pioneer in the world of African textiles, committed to meeting the demands of its customers.
“Life is an extraordinary tapestry of colours, emotions and experiences. Through our latest collection, we aim to capture the essence of life's richness, diversity and vitality,” she said.
She was speaking at the introduction of Vlisco's new collection christened “Storm” to its wide range of portfolios on the theme: “Celebration of Life.”
She said the new garment collection drew its inspiration from the current happenings in the fashion industry to inspire patrons to leverage on the positive side of life and also to be hopeful in life.
“Every collection of ours stands out and one thing about Vlisco is the quality, so the quality, the feel and the designs are unique but every quarter we have a new collection and each of the collections we come out with are special designs with limited collections.”
We have a team of designers who come up with these collections to keep in with the global fashion trends,” she said.
Mrs Boaten assured patrons and clients of the company’s commitment to always produce brands that resonate with life, adding that “most of our designs are inspired by women so we encourage hardworking African women to wear our fabrics”.
Speaking on the theme, the Brand Ambassador for Vlisco, Lucy Quist, explained that in recent times many have had challenging times either in their personal or professional lives.
“Therefore, with the theme celebration of life, we are just reminding everyone that there are always great things in your life worth celebrating so do not forget to celebrate them.
“As we launch these new collections we are saying come and try the latest fashion to celebrate all that life has to offer,” she added.
The event also presented an opportunity to project the work of the 2nd runner-up of the 2022 Vlisco Fashion Fund winner as part of its contribution to the fashion industry in Ghana.
