Management of AirtelTigo and Samsung are collaborating to launch the “Life Just Got Lit” smartphone campaign to fulfil the digital aspiration of its customers.
Under the partnership, both new and existing customers will get a free AirtelTigo package, which includes a new SIM card, minutes to call AirtelTigo lines and data for the purchase of any Samsung phone or tablet in AirtelTigo or Samsung shops.
Mrs Mitwa Ng’ambi, the Chief Executive of AirtelTigo, said “entering 2019, we recognize and acknowledge that digitalization is a major agenda for the nation.”
She said they were continuously seeking ways in which they could support the acceleration of smartphones adoption in the country.
The CEO said the company’s analysis shows that there is still a huge opportunity for growth, when it comes to smartphone adoption in the country and “we are delighted to partner with Samsung on this drive to get more smartphones into the hands of Ghanaians.”
Mr Eugene Nahm, the Managing Director of Samsung-Ghana, said as a technology company, they want to be at the forefront of driving the digitalization of citizens by connecting them to the world.
He said the partnership was for today’s Ghanaian, as enjoying the ultimate smartphone experience should be for everyone not a select few.
He said this year marks 10 years of Galaxy; of relentless and meaningful innovations that have shaped and would continue to define the mobile phone industry.
Mr Nahm said the partnership with AirtelTigo has come at the right time and they are excited to be part of effort to grow Ghanaians digitally through the campaign.
Mr Isaac Boamah, the Head of Devices and Data, AirtelTigo, said to enjoy the free data and voice minutes, customers would have to dial *536# to activate the offer for the first month and recharge their lines with GH¢ 2 and above every month.
He said the free data and voice minutes for each customer would vary according to the price of the Samsung phone purchased and would be awarded monthly for the whole year.
“For instance, for the purchase of a GH¢ 500 phone, a customer will get a one GB data, which does not expire and 1,000 on-net voice minutes free, monthly for the next 12 months,” he added.
