Thousands of exhibitors from across the world are expected to participate in the biggest international trade fair to be held from February 8, 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Known as Ambiente, the trade fair would have on display products for the table, kitchen and household, gift articles, jewellery and fashion requisites, as well as decorative products, interior design concepts and furnishing accessories.
Organised by Messe Frankfurt, one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers, Ambiente 2019 is also expected to witness some of the world’s leading consumer-goods with a wide variety of events, promotional programmes, trend presentations and awards ceremonies.
Speaking at press conference in Ghana, Ms Nicolette Naumann, Vice President of Ambiente, said the company was exploring opportunities in the growing markets in Africa because of the sterling economic performances over the years.
Specifically, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya are among the target countries.
The Vice President said ‘with over 50 per cent of visitors coming from outside Germany, exhibitors at Ambiente can be sure of reaching multiple target groups from different parts of the world”.
Ambiente is the trade fair highlight of the year, acting as a barometer of the latest trends as well as an order and design platform. It consists of three areas - Dining, Living and Giving. The global consumer goods industry is coming to Frankfurt from 8 to 12 February 2019 where it will demonstrate how the future will become the present.
Comprising an area of 592,127 square metres, she said Messe Frankfurt’s exhibition grounds were home to ten exhibition halls adding that the company also operated two congress centres which plays host to events of all kinds.
“We have 66 international sales partners representing 188 countries, run 146 fairs and exhibitions worldwide and generates revenue around €669 million,” she said. In 2018 Ambiente attracted 4,736 exhibitors from 88 countries, 133,582 visitors from 168 countries and covered a gross exhibition space of 308,000 square metres.
The top 10 visitor countries after Germany were Italy, China, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, The Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, South Korea and Switzerland. Ambiente, she said showcases the best in high end products for dining, cooking and the home. There are also designer gifts, stationery, ornaments, home decorations, fine and costume jewellery as well as personal accessories and leatherware.
India is the partner country for Ambiente 2019.
Representatives of the Ghana Exim Bank, Ghana Export Promotion Authority and exporters’ organisations were present.
