The aim is to train and equip the youth with business skills and expertise needed to start, develop and grow their own businesses to help solve unemployment problems in the country. Mrs. Maureen Erekua Odoi, Executive Director of AABN, said YIEDIE was to help the youth to carefully manage their trades through business development services.

She was speaking at a graduation ceremony organised for the 140 beneficiaries in Kumasi, where they were awarded with certificates.Some of them who presented excellent business plans were given grants to start their own businesses.   The ceremony was on the theme “empowering YIEDIE youth: through AABN initiative business development services”

Mrs. Odoi said it was important to equip the youth with appropriate business services and knowledge to enable them venture into businesses that they could grow and manage. Mrs. Odoi said AABN was working to create economic opportunities for the youth between the ages of 17 and 24 in the construction sectors and was being done in partnership with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation, Global Communities, HFC-Boafo, Artisans Association of Ghana and Opportunities Industrialisation Centre Ghana (OICG).

Mrs. Odoi advised young people to take advantage of the training programme to equip themselves with employable skills to earn a decent living
