Chemico Limited has handed over a cheque of GH¢50,000 and agro-chemical products worth GH¢50,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) towards the celebration of this year’s farmers Day.
Additionally, the company has presented some cash amount and products to some Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District directorate of the Ministry towards the effective celebration of the day amounting to GH¢180,000
The agro-chemical products which include: Rice Master, Nominee and Soil magic are to supplement Government’s effort by motivating the farmers to put up their best to increase productivity as captured in the theme for this year’s celebration
A Technical Sales Officer of Chemico Ltd, Maxwell Seth Awuku who was present at the premises of MOFA to make the donation on behalf of the company underscored the importance of such annual benevolence on the company’s calendar observing that “MOFA is a major partner to Chemico and as a result giving support towards such a day is appropriate”
“Our gallant farmers are at the centre of Chemico’s operations. We work with them in the supply of quality agro-chemicals & fertilizer products to boost productivity. So we are here to celebrate with them” he said and assured that Chemico Ltd would continue to offer quality products to promote Agriculture.
Present to receive the donation on behalf of the Ministry and the National Farmers’ Day Planning Committee was the sector Minister, Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna. Also present was Dr. Yakubu Ahmed Alhassan, Deputy Minister, Crops and Chairman of the Planning Committee; Benjamin Gyasi, Director of Finance and Administration and Ing. Joseph Boamah, Chief Director of MOFA
Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna thanked Chemico Ltd for being a good partner and supporting the farmers Day Celebration over the years.
Agriculture he observed is the only sector that can turn the economy around as such all hands should be on deck to honour the farmers to increase productivity to boost the economy
This year’s National Farmers’ Day celebration is scheduled to take place at Kintampo in the Brong- Ahafo Region. The day, which is set aside by government to honour farmers and fishermen who provide food for the people, raw materials for industries and earn foreign exchange for the country, is on the theme: '' Agriculture; A business response to economic growth.''
