Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Security Officer to join our team. The Security Officer
is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the organization's premises, personnel, assets, and
visitors. This role involves monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the property, monitor Fire alarm
system, responding to emergencies, enforcing security protocols, and providing a visible security
presence. The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe environment and preventing
potential security breaches
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Patrolling and Monitoring:
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address potential security risks.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect unusual activities.
• Inspect buildings, gates, fences, and other structures for security vulnerabilities.
2. Access Control:
• Ensure that only authorized personnel and visitors are granted access to the premises.
• Monitor entry points, verify identification, and log visitor information as needed.
• Enforce the organization's access control procedures and protocols.
3. Emergency Response:
• Respond swiftly and appropriately to alarms, emergency situations, or incidents.
• Provide first aid or assist emergency services in case of accidents, injuries, or medical
emergencies.
• Act as the point of contact during an emergency, ensuring effective communication and
coordination.
4. Incident Reporting:
• Document security incidents, suspicious activities, and any breaches of security.
• Complete detailed reports on incidents, accidents, and any unusual activities.
• Report findings to security management and follow up on investigations.
5. Security Equipment Operation:
• Operate and maintain security equipment, including surveillance systems, alarms, and access
control systems.
• Conduct routine checks and inform maintenance team on any faulty or breakdown security
devices to ensure they are functioning properly.
6. Compliance and Security Procedures:
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to security and safety.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Participate in regular training and drills to stay updated on security practices and emergency
procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Education and Experience:
• A graduate in studies (security management, or a related field is a plus.)
• Basic computer skills. Excel, word, Windows.
• Any additional certification is a plus (Not mandatory)
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and report potential risks.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with staff, visitors, and law
enforcement.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Physical fitness and stamina to conduct regular patrols and respond to incidents.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to security protocols
