We are seeking a skilled,experienced and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
JOB PURPOSE:
The truck Mechanic shall be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mixer trucks and other company vehicles.
1. Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mixer trucks, water trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
Maintain a service schedule including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
Conduct safety checks to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
2. Mechanical Repairs & Diagnostics
Diagnose and repair issues in engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
Address operational concerns such as oil leaks and engine performance problems.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve faults quickly.
3. Emergency & Breakdown Response
Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns, including off-site repairs when required.
Work under time constraints to restore vehicles to operational status and minimize downtime.
Conduct post-repair road tests to verify safety and performance.
4. Safety & Compliance
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures during all maintenance activities.
Ensure all trucks meet safety, operational, and regulatory standards.
Report any potential hazards or unsafe vehicle conditions immediately.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Keep accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Report major repair needs and recurring issues to the Transport Manager.
Assist in tracking vehicle performance and recommending improvements.
6. Tools, Parts & Equipment Management
Identify and request necessary spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stored securely.
- Support operational efficiency by keeping the workshop organized.
