Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in transport or fleet management.
Strong knowledge of vehicles, equipment maintenance, and road safety standards.
Experience managing transport logistics across multiple project sites.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and fleet management software (an advantage).
Valid driver’s license (Category C or higher preferred).

Job Summary:
The Transport Officer oversees the effective management and coordination of the company’s fleet, including heavy-duty equipment, trucks, and light vehicles used across various project sites. The role ensures efficient utilization of vehicles, adherence to safety and maintenance standards, and timely movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to support construction operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transport operations for project sites to ensure smooth and timely delivery of materials, machinery, and personnel.
- Manage and monitor the performance and discipline of drivers, operators, and transport assistants.
- Ensure all company vehicles, including heavy-duty equipment (tippers, excavators, loaders, etc.), are properly maintained and serviced according to schedule.
- Liaise with the workshop and maintenance team for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, fuel usage, mileage, and maintenance history.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet utilization, fuel consumption, and transport costs.
- Ensure compliance with all road transport, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Verify and authorize requests for fuel, repairs, and spare parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee vehicle documentation, including insurance, roadworthiness, registration, and permits.
- Investigate and report transport-related accidents, damage, or misuse of vehicles.
- Coordinate logistics for equipment transfers between project sites and the main yard.
- Support management in developing and implementing transport policies, procedures, and schedules.
- Ensure drivers and operators adhere to company safety rules, PPE usage, and defensive driving practices.
- Assist in planning for vehicle replacement and disposal when necessary.
