We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Officer with a strong background in clearing and imports to join our team and ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods across borders. Key Responsibilities: Customs Clearance: Oversee and manage the customs clearance process for all imports, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Documentation: Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and compliance with import requirements. Vendor Coordination: Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs brokers to coordinate the timely arrival and clearance of goods. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in import regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures, and ensure all import activities adhere to these regulations. Logistics Management: Coordinate the transportation of goods from ports to warehouses, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of imported goods and coordinate with the procurement team to manage stock levels and reorder points. Cost Management: Monitor and control import-related costs, including duties, taxes, and shipping fees, to ensure cost-effective logistics operations. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to customs clearance, transportation delays, or discrepancies in documentation. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on import activities, including shipment status, customs clearance progress, and cost analysis, for senior management.
