Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced person with strong Chief Operating Officer (COO) skills to join our team and drive operational excellence in all aspects of our organization. The Program Implementation Lead/COO will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of our programs, operations, and internal systems. The Program Implementation Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, strategic planning, financial management, human resources and organizational development.
- Operational Leadership Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations and enhance organizational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to department heads and staff, ensuring clear communication and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Financial Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee the finance team to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CEO, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and reserves to support the organization's short-term and long-term financial sustainability.
- Oversee grant management processes, including proposal development, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Planning and Program Management Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning process to develop a long-term sustainability plan and lead the plan’s implementation in collaboration with the CEO, program managers and other stakeholders.
- Monitor program activities and outcomes to ensure alignment with the plan, organizational objectives, partner and donor expectations.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and impact, using data and feedback to inform decision-making and improve program quality.
- Support program managers in building strong partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in program implementation and service delivery.
- Organizational Development Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and talented workforce.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
- Identify training and development needs across the organization and coordinate opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
