Our client, a leading company in the educational sector is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer to oversee the organization’s ongoing operations and procedures. The COO will be a key member of the senior management team, responsible for the efficiency of the business, and will be instrumental in ensuring the company’s strategic goals are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and manage the operational aspects of the company’s strategic initiatives.
- Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.).
- Lead the execution of operational strategies to meet company goals and objectives.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
Performance Management:
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
- Analyse internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement.
- Monitor company performance by measuring and analysing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement.
- Build a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
Financial Oversight:
- Manage budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
- Ensure financial success by overseeing financial management, planning, systems, and controls.
Stakeholder Management:
- Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.
- Act as a point of contact for important stakeholders.
Experience:
- Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role in a similar organization.
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Experience in fundraising and managing a budget.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
