Job Description
Development and implementation of a 90-day Operational readiness plan of the facility;
Development and implementation of the Warehouse standard operating procedures for:
Inbound and outbound cargo
Storing and sorting
Picking and packing
Tracking and labelling
Security protocols
Training manual for all staff containing the facility’s key SOP’s
Implementation and Monitoring of the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Ensuring that all staff are recruited and ready to commence operations at the opening of the facility.
Managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse
Strategically manage the facility in compliance with company’s policies and vision
Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
Setup the layout and organization of the warehouse to facilitate efficient operations and space utilization as required
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal SOP’s
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
Ensuring the correct use of the WMS
Manage stock control and reconcile with WMS
Prepare annual budget
Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate facility employees
Plan employee rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed
Develop, review and implement actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
Review the level of implementation and adherence to policies and procedures
Provide hands-on training in all warehousing functions to all staff as required;
Establish and monitor warehouse management key performance indicators
Establish and implement management reporting procedures.
