Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for managing and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and communication systems. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring system security, and providing end-user support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The IT Officer also plays a critical role in implementing and maintaining IT policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support to employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, printers, and other IT equipment.
Respond to help desk requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Network and Systems Administration:
Monitor and maintain the company’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet connections.
Manage and maintain servers, including file, email, and application servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Implement and oversee network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s clock in systems
Software Management:
Install, configure, and update software applications, ensuring they are properly licensed and up-to date.
Assist in the deployment and maintenance of enterprise software systems, such as ERP, CRM, and HRM platforms.
Provide user training on new software and systems as required.
Data Management and Security:
Implement and manage data backup and recovery processes to protect against data loss.
Ensure the security of data and IT systems by monitoring for vulnerabilities and taking proactive measures.
Assist in developing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures.
System Upgrades and Maintenance:
Plan and execute regular system upgrades and maintenance tasks to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve IT infrastructure and operations.
Document IT processes, configurations, and changes to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Vendor and Asset Management:
Coordinate with external vendors for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
Manage IT assets, including tracking hardware and software inventory, and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
Assist in budgeting and planning for IT-related expenses.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements related to IT.
Prepare and submit regular reports on IT activities, including system performance, security incidents, and project status.
Participate in IT audits and implement recommendations to address any identified issues.
