JOB DESCRIPTION – NUTRITION ADVOCATE
We are looking to hire a NUTRITION
ADVOCATE on a temporal basis (November 2024 to March
2025) to actively promote improved nutrition practices, create awareness of our client’s product
KOKO Plus and persuade female entrepreneurs who are beneficiaries of ASA Savings and Loans to
buy and sell KOKO Plus to mothers.
Koko Plus Product & Project Brief: To work with our company, on Koko Plus Project for its Client
KOKO PLUS Foundation. KOKO Plus is a startup food supplement product for infants from 6 months
to 24 months rich in vitamins and minerals to enrich baby’s food. The product seeks to reduce
stunting and anemia among infants aged 6-24months.
Your functional line of reporting will be directly to the Health Service Coordinator who will oversee
the coordination of your work and conduct on the job.
STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY
Project implementation- Liaise with ASA officials and get approval to arrange and
orientation for ASA’s female sales entrepreneurs to start selling the KKP product.
Monitoring- Maintain effective monitoring of sales entrepreneurs to ensure
adequate stock and product distribution.
Communication with ASA Sales entrepreneurs- Maintain continuous engagement
(Via face to face communication, Phone calls and SMS) with the sales entrepreneursto
educate on product benefits and persuade them to buy and sell the KOKO Plus
product to Mothers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must reside in Accra,
Excellent people’s skills, Networking & Relation building skills
A professional with appropriate presentation skills.
Open & friendly personality
Negotiation skills & Marketing Skills
Multi –lingual in at least 2 local dialects including Twi
Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
Requires Monitoring & Evaluation Skills
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Communication and Awareness:
Raise awareness among the ASA female’s entrepreneur communities about the
importance of complementary feeding for children aged 6–24 months.
Explain the nutritional benefits of KOKO Plus (e.g., its ability to supplement local
diets and provide essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, and minerals).
ASA Female Entrepreneur Mobilizer:
Work directly with the female entrepreneurs who are beneficiaries of ASA to buy
and sell KOKO Plus to mothers.
Engage with ASA’s female entrepreneurs through workshops and outreach
programs such as food demonstrations to create demand for the product.
Policy Influencer:
Advocate for the inclusion of KOKO Plus in every female entrepreneur’s sales.
Collaborate with policymakers to integrate the supplement into national strategies
for child nutrition.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as a bridge between the producers of KOKO Plus and ASA’s female
entrepreneurs, ensuring alignment of goals and consistent messaging.
Supporter of Behavior Change:
Address misconceptions or resistance to using supplements by sharing KOKO Plus
success stories, scientific evidence, and practical demonstrations.
Promote a holistic approach to child nutrition, combining KOKO Plus with education
on balanced diets and hygiene practices.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Collect feedback from caregivers and communities on the acceptability, usability,
and impact of KOKO Plus.
Assess the effectiveness of awareness campaigns and identify areas for
improvement.
Others:
Submit report of activities to supervisor per agreed timelines-; as well as
gather and report consumer intelligence to Supervisor.
