Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are efficiently planned, scheduled, and coordinated to maximize equipment uptime and reliability while minimizing costs and production downtime. This role involves detailed planning, resource allocation, and collaboration with maintenance and operations teams to ensure that maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Order Management:
- Develop, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders based on criticality, available resources, and production schedules.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are fully documented with clear instructions, materials, tools, and safety requirements.
Maintenance Planning:
- Create and manage detailed maintenance plans, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Estimate labor hours, parts, materials, and equipment required for each job.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary parts and materials.
Resource Coordination:
- Work closely with maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors to allocate resources effectively.
- Schedule maintenance activities in collaboration with production to minimize downtime and disruption.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and implement improvements to maintenance processes and procedures.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance activities.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including safety checks and regulatory compliance.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly maintenance schedules and reports.
- Facilitate regular meetings with maintenance and operations teams to review upcoming work and resolve any issues.
- Provide timely updates to management on the status of maintenance activities and any potential issues.
